Parent/Guardian Meeting Agenda
We suggest this meeting take place at least one month before your scheduled field study. We suggest discussing the following information, you can add or delete information as you see fit.
- Introduction
- Distribute handouts
- Purpose of field study
- Dates of field study
- Estimated attendance
- Chaperones (if needed)
- They can visit www.jekyll4h.org for more info at any time
- Slide show/Power Point of last year's trip. You can borrow video from Jekyll 4-H if this is your first trip or use the online powerpoint and/or bragbook.
- Facilities
- Location/Map
- Dining Hall
- Dormitories
- Outdoor Classrooms
- Schedule and Instructors
- Provide schedule (if available, if not use sample schedule)
- Name tags
- Emphasize adult to student ratio
- Permission slips/medical forms/etc.
- Instructors all with college degrees, experience, etc.
- Safety Precautions/Discipline/Rules
- Student rules
- Adult responsibilities & expectations
- Supervision at all times
- What to Bring
- Mention what not to bring as well
- Price of Trip
- Make sure your cost includes transportation, extra fees (boat trip, dissection fees, etc.), and cost of teachers and chaperones if necessary.
- Q&A Session
- You can use the frequently asked questions (and answers) or call Jekyll 4-H if necessary.
